The coming semester will mark a new chapter in the history of the India Point Ashwinders.  Long-time Co-Captain and Founder Jeff Blum has stepped down from his position in anticipation of a move and new chapter in his life this summer.  Former Secretary Jeremy Work will assume his role.

Despite uncertain circumstances, Blum saw it through that his idea to start a Quidditch team would come to pass.  Through a failed school application process and a year of low membership, the team has significantly expanded its activity with multiple practices, weekly travel, and culminating in attendance at Northeast Regionals in Rochester.  Blum is stepping down at a point where his work has put the team in a position to take off.

In order to do just that, the team used this as an opportunity to solidify its infrastructure. Joining Work among the new Officers is Beater Coach Nate Kingston who was elected as the team's Treasurer. Rookies Joy Yamaguchi and Amanda Richards were elected to the Community Liasion and Secretary positions respectively. Founder Derik Wagner and Rod

A NEW ERA

Hasbun will continue their terms as Co-Captain and SNEQC Representative respectively.

Work has been the team's primary consultant regarding Chaser strategy and showed initiative in his role as Secretary.  He will bring these experiences into his role as one of the team's chief executives.  He, along with Wagner, will develop the program and oversee a more comprehensive administration.

Kingston's objectives are to develop the business of the team and manage the team's resources.  Doing so will provide the team the ability to seek more opportunities.

Yamaguchi brings plenty of experience to her new position, having founded the Long Beach Wonderbolts and has been involved in the media aspect of several organizations. In addition to expanding the Ashwinder's online presence, Yamaguchi will look to expand IPA's reach in Providence and transform the group into a true community team.

The India Point Ashwinders thank Jeff Blum for all the work he has put into the team.  Without him, the group and all the experiences the members of it have had would never have happened.  He should be proud that he helped create something that will last and grow.
