The India Point Ashwinders improved to 4-2 on the season after their games against Smith College Quidditch (0-5-1) this past Sunday with great play in all facets of the game.

The entire Chaser squad had a great day getting scoring chances.  Were it not for a multitude of terrific last stands by the Smith defense, the scores would have been much higher than they were.   Jeremy Work and Derik Wagner had their best day of the year offensively, effectively doubling their season point totals with 10 and 8 goals respectively.  In the second game of his career, Keeper Nick O'Mara had a very solid day on both ends of the pitch.  He quelled many Smith attacks and did a phenomenal job of moving the offense facilitating many drives, four of which found their way through a hoop by his hand.  Rookie Sophia Gluskin-Braun notched the first goal of her career in her debut to go along with several nice interceptions.  Tyler Poole, Amanda Richards, and Joy Yamaguchi each added a goal of their own.

More important and stellar was the play at the other end of the pitch.  Smith was denied of scoring opportuities all day, thanks in part to an aggressive Chaser defense.  While they were robbed from getting on the score sheet, Leah Jones and David Reich showed up in a big way in this respect.  The Beater play of Chris Carchedi, Rod Hasbun, Nate Kingston, Jane Jacoby, Will Orton, and Brian Smith was tremendous and even more effective in the defensive effort.  They held onto Bludger control for all but a few minutes of the three games and swiftly knocked out Smith Chasers so that there were rarely multiple passing options.

Rookie Seeker Max Rosenwasser had a perfect debut, grabbing the Snitch in both of the games he played in.

The final scores were 80*-10, 120-40*, and 120*-0 IPA.  The Ashwinders (4-2) head to North Shore this Sunday to take on the Nor'Easters (3-3).  Brooms Up is at 1.
